Looking for some seriously good gluten free food in Liverpool that you can still enjoy during lockdown? Here are some top places to grab gluten free lunch or dinner in the city!

Cosy Club

Find Cosy Club at 37c Paradise St, Liverpool L1 3EU | Visit their website

Cosy Club’s gluten free menu is brilliant, meaning it’s one of my go to places for eating gluten free in Liverpool One. As well as its great menu, it’s got brilliant cocktails, quirky decor and buzzy atmosphere.

Cosy Club Liverpool is great for a chilled brunch or dinner and drinks – I love their Cosy Eggs for brunch and their Thai Green Chicken Curry is amazing!

During lockdown: Cosy Club Liverpool is sadly closed during lockdown.

Pieminister

Find Pieminister at 31 Bold St, Liverpool L1 4DN | Visit their website

Pie and mash is just quinessentially British comfort food isn’t it? It’s the sort of pub food I’d not had for yeeeears, until a branch opened on Bold Street!

There are 3 gluten free Pieminister flavours to choose from – the gluten free MOO (a British beef steak & craft ale pie), the gluten free FREE RANGER (a Free range British chicken, ham, leek & thyme pie) and the gluten free OLIVIA v/gf ( a vegan Chestnut mushroom, sundried tomato & olive pie)

You can enjoy the gluten free pies on their own or with mashed potato, cheesy mash, fries and garden peas, plus gluten free gravy. They’ve also got some nice gluten free small plates like pigs in blankets and halloumi chips.

What’s more, you can wash this all down with a gluten free Peroni, or of course a soft drink, wine or cocktail – I recommend the “Gone with the Gin”!

You might have spotted Pieminister before in the supermarket, well you can pick up cold pies here to takeaway.

During Lockdown: Pieminister offers click and collect and lockdown delivery via UberEats (use my code eats-r2rwjz for £10 off a £15 order!)

Mowgli Street Food

Find Mowgli Street Food at 3 Water St, Liverpool L2 0RD and 69 Bold St, Liverpool L1 4EZ | Visit their website

I first encountered this place at their Manchester branch and loved it. Indian food is known for generally being very adaptable to be gluten free and Mowgli Street Food is no exception.

They’ve got an impressive range of gluten free options – I loved the tiffin concept where it’s the chef’s choice what you end up with! Check out my review of the Manchester branch here

During lockdown: Sadly Mowgli is closed during lockdown

I haven’t quite got the hang of this arty photos of food lark…

The Florist

Find The Florist at 24 Hardman St, Liverpool L1 9AX | Visit their website

I was lucky enough to be invited to the opening weekend of The Florist and I’ve been wanting to go back ever since. It’s such a gorgeous place to enjoy drinks or a meal, and they’ve got a good range of non-gluten containing dishes. Check out my review here.

During lockdown: Sadly The Florist is closed during lockdown.

God bless Italian food and it’s adaptability – Trattoria 51 offers gluten-free variations of 95% of its menu.

The Old Hall Street restaurant provides coeliac-safe options for a variety of classic dishes including the likes of Bruschetta, Pasta, Pizza, Risotto and Burgers which can be perfectly paired with gluten-free Peroni – one of my favourites!

Fun fact, having built on 15 years of food intolerance research, Trattoria 51 was the first to partner with the market leading gluten-free retail brand, DS Gluten-Free (now known as Schar!).

Delifonseca

Find Delifonseca Dockside at Brunswick Way, Liverpool L3 4BN | View their website

I’d heard of this place but shame on me, didn’t realise they had gluten free options!

Delifonseca Dockside’s much-loved Food Hall stocks a variety of gluten-free produce for those looking to indulge in a Coeliac-safe treat or cook up a delicious dinner at home.

Dishes not already on the gluten free menu can apparently be adapted to accommodate coeliac dietary requirements, and staff are fully trained on the disease with measures in place to avoid cross-contamination – definitely one I’ll be trying.

During lockdown: The restaurant is closed however takeaway and click and collect are available – find out more here
