go site I’m a bit of a creature of habit when it comes to Liverpool – as much as I love going to new places, I usually venture towards Liverpool One by default when I arrive via Lime Street. That’s how I’d managed to miss the absolute revelation that is The Italian Club Fish – an authentic and gluten free friendly Italian eatery.
buy Lyrica online On a recent shopping trip, myself and my mum had decided to venture up to the Georgian Quarter, to a place I’d heard some buzz about. On the way however, we found a little Italian at the top of Bold Street – we would have missed it if we hadn’t been eying up the fairy lights at the place next door!
I love seafood, and seeing that they had gluten free pasta available, we decided to give it a go. After all, it claimed to be authentically Italian, and the Italians are pretty damn good at providing for gluten free!
I went for the Spaghettini Alle Vongole (spaghetti with clams, garlic, parsley, fresh chilli, white wine, cherry tomatoes & extra virgin olive oil). Unlike a lot of places, it was actually served with gluten free spaghetti rather than penne or fusilli – a small difference but it really changes the texture of the dish.
I’ve got to say, it was utterly incredible. I actually got a little bit emotional. There’s something about good Italian food that is just so comforting, you can almost feel the passion put into the food, and this was a perfect example. The sauce was so rich in flavour, and the gluten free pasta was perfectly cooked – I find it’s often too al dente in restaurants.
For pudding I went for the Torta Valter, a gluten free chocolate and almond cake – absolute heaven! And of course we polished off a bottle of house white between the two of us, which made the experience all the more heavenly!
I highly recommend this place next time you’re looking for food on Bold Street!
