>  Beauty & Skincare   >  Aaaand relax…. The Massage From Heaven at Renaissance Skincare & Beauty #Ad

This post is in collaboration with Renaissance Skincare & Beauty,

I’m a proper stresshead. Always have been, always will be. It’s something I’ve been working on over the years, but at the moment, I’m aware job hunting is subliminally freaking me out.

Sometimes, you just need to take time to switch off and chill out, something I’m not great at doing. Something I had considered trying a few times, is escaping and treating myself to a little bit of a massage. My mum and I have done spa days before and the massages always leave you feeling so super relaxed.

I always assumed that you had to go to spa’s in the city centre or out in the countryside to get these experiences. It’s only fairly recently I’ve realised there are some places closer to home that can offer a pampering experience.

That’s why I was so excited to get an invite to a Blogger Pamper Party at Renaissance Skincare & Beauty, a salon based in Prescot. There is another branch in St Helens that I’d heard about before, but I’d never realised there was a Prescot branch a 10 minute drive from my house. The salon is pretty easy to find, and there’s a car park next door.

Full disclosure, I had no idea what to expect – I kind of thought that beauty salons just did nails and tans and things, which is great, but with eczema and nails that have to stay as short as possible on doctors orders, it’s not something I’m ever likely to visit for.

Well, Renaissance do offer treatment like nails and tans, but so much more!

On arrival I was handed a glass of fizz (always a promising start) and given a little tour of the salon by Andrea. The first thing I noticed was this place is like a TARDIS – I wasn’t expecting so many treatment rooms! The place was so welcoming and was an oasis of tranquility. Soothing music was piped out and all the rooms are dimly lit and relaxing. Plus the scent of all the lotions and potions in the air really add to the comforting atmosphere.

This was my treatment room. Very welcoming, even with the scary LED mask in the corner!

After our tours we were told a little about some of the treatments that Renaissance offer. They have something for everyone, any age, any sex, whether you’re looking for a makeover or just a little pampering.

With skincare partners including pHFormulaDermalogica and Elemis, Renaissance offer facials and skin treatments suited to your skin type, including specialist treatments such as microdermabrasion and oxygen facials (see the funky looking mask in the photo?). They also offer a range of body treatments, from tanning and waxing, to massage and wraps.

Renaissance also offer a medical skincare clinic, offering Botox, fillers, dermarolling, peels and semi-permanent makeup. Or, if you’re looking for something a little less invasive, you can treat yourself to hand, feet and nail treatments.

After our talk, we got to choose from either a facial or massage to experience first hand the magic they can do. Eager to get some stress busted, I opted for a massage. I went back up with Andrea who had shown me around and got myself comfy in one of the treatment rooms.

All I can say is, the gal has magic hands. I only realise how much tension and knotting I get in my shoulders when I’m having a massage, and there was plenty of it to work away! The experience is so relaxing, I came out feeling so chilled.

In fact, I was so impressed, I actually booked a return visit for myself later that week! I went back for their Step Into Spring package – this included a foot and leg scrub, foot mask, foot massage, facial and a back and shoulder massage. Renaissance do several pamper packages year round, including holiday preparation treatments and a Champagne & Cupcakes party perfect for a girly day out.

Prescot wil be seeing it’s own little renaissance soon, especially with the boost that Shakespeare North will bring to town – hopefully this should see the salon go from strength to strength.

Interested in treating yourself to a pampering session?

I love Spa’s for any kind of pamper! I usually get a facial and it completely distresses you! Glad you had such a good experience.

This sounds like the most blissful relaxing experience! I’m always petrified of spas because I have such sensitive skin I’m constantly worried about a reaction. I always end up leaving more stressed than when I walked in…Good luck with the job hunt! x
